TRACTORS

This is a non-working tractor at Islip Grange. The flat tires gave it away.

Tractors

Always feels a bit awkward going somewhere and having to ask "Do you have any tractors back there?"  All in a days work photo challenge.

Together

Dinner, together.  Taken with the self timer.  Had to grab a shot quick before Annabelle decided she was done.  She hasn't quite got the whole stay at the table until everyone else is done thing.

Thriving

A day at work during early winter does not allow for much "thriving" subject matter.  These little flowers (or weeds? I haven' got a clue) seem to like this kind of weather.  It's the only colour in the garden at all.

THRIVING

A slash of pink in an otherwise colorless time of year at a vineyard.

Three

Three days after Thanksgiving and I only just realize that the Christmas decorations are up in town.  Three little candles still on in the early morning (one benefit of going to work early is I got to see the stunning pink sunrise)

The weekend

For me, the weekend is an excuse to laze around in slippers and pjs for longer than is socially acceptable.  But this weekend I was at work by 7am so there goes that fantasy...  I came home to find Charlotte's slippers on the sofa.  I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

THE WEEKEND

For the rest of my weekends, I would like this to be my view.

THE OFFICE

This is the office of the lodge home we are staying in for Thanksgiving at Lake George.  There is a speeding ticket on the bulletin board that reads: Dismissed. Be Careful! as a reminder.

The Office

Didn't have to go to the office today but THIS office is in the basement... I come here every day to upload my photos.  I considered tidying up all of the filing before I took pictures but then I wouldn't have recognized it.

The letter Z

Wishing you all a very happy thanksgiving.  Me?  I am stuffed... just like our turkey.  Off to catch some early zzzzzzz's.

THE LETTER Z

Some graffiti I passed on my morning run.

THE LETTER V

V is for Vegetation.

The letter V

V is for very violet cauliflower.  This will be our dinner tonight.  Very sad that it was the last day of the Farmer's market for the year.

THE LETTER U

U is for Unfinished. The unfinished cedar logs to be used for railings for the unfinished boathouse.

The letter U

U is for Ugly.  The ugliest gingerbread house you have ever seen.  But the FUN that went into creating it... Unreal.

THE LETTER T

T is for Telephone. I grew up with a rotary phone and my children don't know what that is. Their children will not know what this is.

The letter T

T is for Thanking the spirits of the sky for her Thanksgiving Feast.  Our school district only does half day kindergarten.  The other half of the day Charlotte goes to a somewhat alternative school in the woods! As you can tell... she loves it!

The letter R

R is for Red.  Amazing red leaves.  I literally screeched to a halt when I passed by this tree this morning.  Jumped out, took a pic and went on my way.  It was stunning.

TTHE LETTER R

R is for Renewable Energy. A wind turbine out east this afternoon.

THE LETTER Q

Q as in Quarters. I worked today.

The letter Q

Q is for Queue. They don't know what they are queuing up for (maybe they are British and just like a good queue).  But since this is Long Island post Hurricane Sandy they are probably waiting for gas.

The letter P

P is for Picturesque.  Had so much fun with the fog this morning.  I left early for work so I could stop along my commute and snap away.

THE LETTER P

P is for Pasture. Pastoral.

The letter N

N is for Naughty Neighbour!  He climbed his kitchen counter to help himself to the grapes.  The cutest rascal there ever was.

THE LETTER N

N is for Nails. On a telephone pole at a busy intersection.

The letter M

M is for melting.  Melting snow on our deck.  Apparently it will be 65 Fahrenheit tomorrow.  What is going on with this weather?

THE LETTER M

M is for Marshmallows. Homemade.

THE LETTER L

L is for Latch on the gate at the library.

The Letter L

L is for Let there be Light!  We stayed at friends last night as our house was literally freezing (the fish even died because the water was too cold for them).  And we woke up to THIS!!  More than 6 inches of snow.  This light looked so pretty in the early morning.  Later on in the day there was Light back home. 10 days and finally we have power.  Thank you to the amazing people who drove across the country to fix our mess.  The guys working on our street drove all the way from Minnesota, Nebraska and Alabama.  Amazing.

The Letter K

K is for Keys.  The keys to our friends house.  A house with heat and light and electricity (and cups of tea).  Perfect.

THE LETTER K

K is for Knitting. Timely considering the weather today.

THE LETTER J

J is for Junk Mail. Every day for the past month, candidates have been stuffing the mailbox with these. Days after the hurricane, rather than the two presidential candidates recognizing the conditions for some NYers and rolling up their sleeves, instead they are kissing babies and shaking hands in Iowa. There seems to be an obscene amount of money poured into the campaigns, that I am sure, could be used elsewhere. *getting off my soapbox now*

The letter J

J is for Jam (or in this country... jelly).  Not sure when I will be able to post again as heading back home and there is still no power, heat or hot water.  That's 8 full days for anyone that is counting.
