EXHIBIT

I thought this was a nice contrast to Gemma's Exhibit photo. Mine are Boy Scout Racecars at the Library.

Exhibit A from Alison's bridal shower today.

EXERCISE

One of the contraptions in the man cave. I prefer running outside on the street to working out in the garage.

Exercise

Scooters.  This picture was chosen by my parents.  Immediately after posting this I will be enjoying a lovely cold glass of bubbly with them.

Evolution

Evolution of man and apple products.

EVOLUTION

I dreaded this theme, having no idea whatsoever. Then I remembered these shoes. I spend an hour in the attic this morning searching for Shawn's first pair. The numbers have faded but from toe to heel they are 5 inches. He wears a 12 now. I love how they are tied in a cute little bow and nowadays, kids never tie their laces. They tuck them in the sides.

Entrance

Shaking some crazy out before I start the work day.   For the record, it is actually quite hard to take a photo balancing on one leg.  I learn something new every single day.

ENTRANCE

Entrance to the much-needed car wash. I thought I had a silver truck and was shocked when I was finished that I do, in fact, have a dark gray truck.

Endearing

When Hurricane Irene hit last summer we got lots of concerned messages from family around the world.  This letter from our niece in California was hands down the BEST.  It's been up on our fridge ever since.  Oh and that little jar?  Charlotte thought we were super lucky to have so many little white flowers ALL over the lawn so she picked them to make a bouquet.  Didn't have the heart to explain they were weeds.

Elegant

It is a pretty sorry state of affairs when the most elegant thing in your home is Ken...

ELEGANT

Dinner is ready to be served at my house. Um...no. Just kidding. This is the Bayard Cutting Arboretum and I apologize for the dark photo. I should have taken more and messed around with the exposure but I was in a hurry. They don't allow flash because it damages the fibers on the tapestry on the wall behind me. Imagine having a table like this?

EIGHT

Eight raindrops on a misty morning.

Eight

I love backgammon and I am grateful that I inherited some backgammon-winning genes from my dad and maternal grandmother.  Apparently those same genes don't run in Seb's family.

EARTH TONES

Earth tones

Every morning when I drive to work I cross over a little river that is surrounded by majestic looking golden reeds.  I couldn't wait to get a picture of them all swaying in the breeze.  So much for that - we had a THICK fog this morning and I couldn't even see the reeds across the river.  Heading back to the car I looked down and I was standing on these pebbles.  They seemed "earthy toned" enough for me.

Dusk

Your regular Monday night.  Dinner, bath, brush teeth...oh and then go play at the beach.

DUSK

I was pretty late on this one. I finally got dinner in the oven and drove like a mad woman to the marina.

DOOR

Today we went up to Lake George and stopped in Saratoga Springs. When I looked at the theme and knew we were going up here, I thought "I am so lucky". This is someone's home. Not a store or a library. I took about 20 different doors and had the hardest time choosing.

Door

This is the restroom door at The Shack.  It is a bit of an institution around these parts.  During the summer months it serves up casual food on the side of a busy road.  It is always packed.

DOMESTIC

Tatty towels from the downstairs bathroom.
The definition in the dictionary for domestic talks about, among other things, domestic violence usually between and husband and wife in their home. It also is defined as a maid or servant. Made me go: Hmmm. I find that funny.
Gemma's picture had me bustin' a gut today. I needed a laugh :)

Domestic

My mum thought this was an amusing birthday gift last year.  It makes me chuckle every time I wear it! Taken with the self timer - trickier than I thought!

Distant

I took this same shot from a different angle and it was better at conveying a sense of "distance."  Having said that, I think the picture is way more interesting with the boats in the foreground so I chose this photo instead.

Disorder

Clothes being thrown down the stairs... waiting for the magic laundry elf to pick them up.

DISORDER

This is a good day for my desk. I know where everything is (almost) and I don't mind working in chaos. It bothers other people in the house but not me.

Dessert

I am a chocolate kind of girl when it comes to dessert... but I gave it up for Lent.  So this is what the girls had for dessert tonight.  Charlotte devoured the cantaloupe and Annabelle polished off the grapes.

DESSERT

Pecan Pie Bars. Not gooey enough for me like Pecan Pie but not bad. Email me if you would like the recipe.

DARK

Dark

It's crazy busy over here today so no time to be creative with this theme.  Swim classes, tea with other mums, baking dessert while simultaneously feeding annabelle, folding laundry, making up beds for our guests, tidying up, cooking dinner.  But it's the best type of busy when you are expecting friends over in just a few short hours.  Hello weekend.

DAMAGED

This lovely house in the neighborhood was damaged by fire a few months ago. They seem to be at a standstill as far as fixing it goes.

Damaged

Someone (and I won't mention any names) got a little aggressive with our rather stubborn garage door.  That same someone attempted to fix it.... is that super glue???
p.s.  That same someone is free to defend him/herself in the comments section

DAIRY

I saw a picture like this ages ago on photo.net and loved it, not thinking I would ever think of it again. Then DAIRY came up in the theme list and it hit me, "how perfect!" I need to try that. It combines the theme and one of my favorite subjects to photograph.

Dairy

This morning I bought some oreo cookies and milk.  I took a million pictures.  They looked awful (or at least a long way off what I had envisioned).  At this point I am late for work.  So I grabbed the butter out of the fridge and took one photo.  This isn't great but it is better than the cookie pictures.  Moral of the story?  When in doubt... find the butter.
