FROSTED

A frosted cake pop from Starbucks. My friend bought me two for this picture but after the ride home from (the middle of nowhere) Chester, NY, the pink one was flattened :(

Frosted

Guess what was on the menu at the Ice Cream Party Shoppe?

FRONT DOOR

Found a rundown shack in the middle of nowhere, where we are playing baseball.

Front Door

At the bottom of our hill you meet the water...and on the water sits this little "historical" house.  After taking pictures of it I finally decided to learn more about the "abstract artist" Arthur Dove who lived here.  Turns out they bought this house in 1938 for $980!

From my past

We don't have a cassette player any more but there was no way I was throwing these out.  I used to love making a "mix" and so did my friends.  The songs on these tapes evoke such strong memories that if I close my eyes I can almost imagine I am back in the time when the memories were made.  Just like the smell of lilacs, music can really take you back.

FROM MY PAST

When I was 9 we moved maybe a mile from my old house but being only 9, I hadn't really explored that end of where we moved to. After a while, I found a neighbor's house that had a lot of property. At the side furthest away from us was their farmhouse, I think in the middle was a big barn that I don't remember them using very much and on the other side, the side closest to us, was farmland. I found an old road/path back there and no one ever stopped me from going there. I don't think they ever knew I was there. Way in the back were lilacs. All different colors. I remember going there and cutting them to bring home. I know I spent time in there, inside what I called The Lilac Forest. At the time I thought it was my big secret place that no one else knew about.
Now that I am grown I have a lilac bush in the back and every year when those blossoms come out something twigs my memory - the smell maybe? Some days I wish I could spend some time back there. I wonder if the property hasn't been bought up and used for something different. I hope not. I hope its still there, blooming its beautiful bounty of flowers.
It was this or a pair of Dr. Scholl's Exercise Sandals I took a picture of in the shoe store today! They're b-a-a-a-ck.

Frilly

I don't know where this frilly thing came from (did Seb buy it?).  Nor do I know if anyone uses it.  But its been hanging in the shower for a while now...

FRILLY

Not too much Frilly around me so I bought these tulips.

Friendships

Every so often I get the loveliest card in the mail.  I like to keep them in a special folder and every so often I re-read them, reminding myself how very lucky I am to have the best friends in the world.

Freeze Frame

Blue is the colour.... of my football team, Chelsea.  They won an incredible match today. I'm guessing there were a lot of men (and women) in blue shirts jumping up and down in London today.  I had to make do with hollering in delight as I listened to the radio in my car.  Seb, I owe you one.

FREEZE FRAME

I have to buy Matt ice cream and rub his feet for this. He also got to drive my truck in the driveway (don't tell the authorities)

FOUR

My friend Nicholas' jersey. He is an incredible hockey player.

Four

Why do I love this project?  Because I see things that I never noticed before.  I've always seen the ivy but I only just noticed the bark on our trees.

FOOTWEAR

Funny story about these: my favorite boots EVER. I wore them to the podiatrist when I had a stress fracture in my foot from running. When I walked in, he chuckled and said, "Those boots keep me in business!"

Footwear

If the shoe fits...

FLY

Started out very uninspiring. First I went to a local bait and tackle store and bought a fly for fishing. The man in there was really nice and I thought it would work for a picture. Then I had to pick up boys from baseball practice and I know there is an airstrip close to the school. After driving around I found it and the man in there was really nice as well. An old-time pilot. He invited me back to see his pictures from Africa that he took after years of being a private pilot there so one day when I have time I might head on over there.

Fly

I had a brief moment of insanity where I actually thought I might get a photo of a fly (of the insect variety) if I stood outside long enough.  Yeah well....  then I discovered that the "fly" on your trousers/pants is actually the part of material that covers the zip, rather than the zip itself.  Just sharing my new found knowledge!

FLUFFY

Frosting.

Fluffy

I think my brain is officially running out of creative ideas.  I had to ask a four year-old to think of something fluffy.  Charlotte came up with dandelions and insisted that she come and hunt for them with me.  That was easy.

FLOOR

"2nd floor, Ladies Lingerie". More like "2nd floor, offices in the hardware store and a clean bathroom".

Floor

Sometimes it feels like I spend my entire day picking things up off the floor.  Just when I think I am done I turn around to discover more.  This isn't staged.  This is what was on Annabelle's floor this morning: a winter hat (where did that come from????  it is 70 degrees outside),  a tissue (how revolting) and a random headband.  I grabbed the camera, took a shot and then picked this all up.

Flight

Eight years ago I took a flight home to London.  A few days later on the 17th of April I walked down a flight of stairs and got in a car with my dad.  We flew across town to St. Brides church and I walked down the aisle to say "I do."  The years have flown by. Happy Anniversary Seb.  Now, more importantly, whatever should I do with this flight of wine?  Thanks to Melissa for the idea.

FLIGHT

Beautiful day with a beautiful sky.

Flat

Somedays when you are given a theme you can't think of ANYTHING that fits.  Today it felt as though there was nothing flat in the world.  Then as I sat down at the dinner table with the kids I realized it was literally staring at me in the face.  The candles were a christmas gift from my aunt a few years ago.

FLAT

A flat of flowers.

Five

A lovely day today - we found FIVE Crab pots at Northport Harbor in the beautiful sunshine.  Then Chelsea made my day even better with FIVE goals and are through to the FA Cup Final.  Good Sunday.

FITNESS

I rode my bike today rather than running. Big shout out to the ladies in Cycle for Survival. All I can say is I am very glad my neighborhood is so flat. Wicked workout.

Fitness

Fitness?  Playing in a 7am basketball league on a SATURDAY.  I had the camera ready for his return home but obviously I was still drinking my tea and in my pj's.

FISH

I took a detour to the Southold Fish Market. So fresh, some of them were still breathing!

Fish

When we moved into our house the previous owners left these big colourful fish on the bathroom tiles for the kids to appreciate.  Not sure what they were thinking with the overall bathroom decor... but I do like the fish.

Fear

I am scared of heights. I tried taking a photo from the top of a staircase but I was so nervous that it came out very blurry.  So instead you get a tall building, taken from the safety of the ground.

Favourite Food

When it comes to pasta, Charlotte does not discriminate.  She loves it long, short, fat, thin, whole wheat or white. With pesto. She would be happy eating it at every single meal.  Can you name them all?

FAVORITE FOOD

My favorite food is fruit. It is a lemony shortbread crust with a cream cheese custard in the middle and the best part on top.

Fasteners

These are the buttons on my work clothes today.  They had to work hard after my big chocolate binge yesterday.  In other news, this is Day 100 of 366!  Never thought we would make it this far!

FASTENERS

I worked in the hardware store today and was surrounded by fasteners...thousands of them, however, I had this picture in my head and decided to use this one. I put a 60's look to it because I thought rarely do I see clotheslines anymore.
