Blurred
Sometimes after dinner we have "family dance party." This is Charlotte rocking the dance floor and checking out her reflection in the fireplace. My brother will be happy to know she was dancing to Michael Jackson.
BLURRED
One of my favorite things in photography is bokeh. The out-of-focus light in the background. Today I took out a small tree from the basement and this ornament. A few years ago, Carly gave this to me but she didn't buy it - she went 'shopping' in the basement. She chose this ornament and gave it to me for Christmas! I kept it hanging on the light over my desk all these years.

Bloom
We had to get new plants for the front of the house last winter. I have no clue about plants... so when Seb asked what I wanted I just asked for something that stayed green all winter. The bonus is that they have little red berries.

Black and White Image
There was plenty of white in the city today. It was freezing cold and snow hadn't melted. We passed a great farmers market outside of the natural history museum. I wanted to eat the sign... so cute.
BLACK AND WHITE IMAGE
Today, my truck was covered in ice. I went out to warm it up and saw frost on the side window. It wasn't all feathery and soft, more like spiky and sharp.

Best Friend
Friendships can form unexpectedly, in the most unlikely of circumstances. For some reason people are brought together and later they discover they have more in common than they realized. This blog is a testament to that.

BENEATH
I stood beneath this plant today which looked like nothing special. The top of the leaves were typical - rubbery and smooth. Underneath however, was an amazing surprise. It was the softest velvet ever. I closed my eyes and it felt like my horse's muzzle or Carly's hands.
Beneath
I found this theme really hard. In the end this was the only picture I took. I think I like the way the reflections give the illusion of being beneath the water.

Barren
I drove to our local beach today. It was so cold. I took some pictures as quickly as possible and dashed home. But the blue of the sky was amazing.

Barns
I came home this morning with lots of barn pictures... and seb informed me they were sheds, not barns. So in despair I took the "Uno moo" barn out into the yard and took a pic of that instead...
BARNS
I drove around the neighborhood today, looking for interesting barns. There are quite a few structures that are part of the houses but they were more like sheds. Some might have been barns at one time but the owners have sided them to look like the houses and not at all what I had in my head. This barn is part of a very old home that is now for sale. I would love to see the inside.

Asymmetrical
Whenever my english friends and family visit the US they always take pictures of the american fire hydrants. Today it was my turn!
ASYMMETRICAL
This is my Nut Bracelet. I realize its not exactly asymmetrical since the colors are different on each side but I think its pretty close. Shawn made this for me for Christmas. He bought the nuts and string at the store then went online to YouTube and made it. My (asymmetical) Nut Bracelet.

Art
This is the 9/11 memorial in Port Jefferson in front of an ice cream store. Don't like the picture at all but I didn't have much choice at work.

ARCHITECTURE
I found this to be a strange house. It looks like it was originally the top of a house, cut off and set on the ground. Maybe its the sloping roof or the long shutters that reach the ground. Maybe because there is nothing in the front - a porch or landscaping. Either way, weird.
